Stephen Taylor | Owner/Founder
Stephen Taylor is a professional drummer and educator. He is the founder of SDS and the creator of the Drum Better Daily Program. From August 2023-January 2024 Stephen was the full time touring drummer with the southern rock band The Steel Woods. In the past, He has toured and recorded with artists like Danielle Peck, Jason Jones, and Meshach Jackson. In addition, he toured and recorded as a member of the rock group Lovers and Liars. Lovers and Liars were signed to Universal Republic Records in 2010 and the group had multiple songs featured on MTV.
Stephen studied at the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies. In addition to running his online drum school The Drum Better Daily program since 2011, Stephen has also been a featured educator for companies like DRUM! Magazine, Sweetwater Music, Vic Firth, and Zildjian.
He currently lives just south of Nashville, TN with his wife, two sons, and daughter.
Grant Jenkins | Customer Service/Community Manager
Grant is a drummer living in Columbia, TN. Grant currently plays drums for Scattered Hamlet and also manages all of the customer service and community management for SDS.
Tim Buell | Staff Teacher/Transcriptionist
Tim is a Nashville-based drummer and educator. He has toured with artists like Gloriana, Jana Kramer, Jerrod Niemann, Remedy Drive, and many others. In addition to touring and recording, Tim has also transcribed drum parts for Zildjian, Vic Firth, and many others.
At SDS, Tim handles all of the sheet music creation as well as hosting “SDS Tech Talk”.
