“Wow!!! Bass drum boot camp kicked my butt!!! I didn’t realize how under developed my right foot was. I always find excuses to play my drums but never to really practice. This has awakened a desire to get serious about my drumming. I’m tired of being just another average drummer. Thanks for this Stephen! It was just what I needed.”
-Kevin Walker
“I found these exercises to be great. The bass drum boot camp gave my foot a workout! Once I completed the exercises my foot was on fire! With only a short time working on the bass drum boot camp I can already tell my foot has gotten stronger and faster. I’m able to play intricate patterns with more ease. ”
-Mario Alcala
“This boot camp is a 25 minute marathon for your foot…a straight gym workout! Great for your weak leg too.
Nothing can save you from the carnage of The Barn Burner!!!!! I love this workout…fourth day on the camp and it’s improved my control and stamina. LOVE IT!!
-John Luna
“The bass drum boot camp is quite a work out. Let’s just say it pointed out all my flaws. All of the exercises were well designed for endurance and, most importantly, accuracy. If I can master the boot camp, I’ll have much better flexibility and endurance than I do currently. Kudos to you for designing such a nefariously effective, targeted work out.”
-David Puzzo
“The boot camps rocks and if you don’t get it you will have kick foot envy of all those who did get it. A few bucks separates you from having the kick foot you always wanted. Get er done.”
-Marcus Lewis
“Tried this out today… it gave my foot one hell of a wake up call.”
-Luke Gregg
“I’m loving it. Exactly the types of exercises I was looking for. I’ve only been doing it a few days but I already feel improved smoothness in my foot work. Thanks for putting this together!”
-Fred Rose
“Bought the Bass Drum Boot Camp. I’mma laugh when I lose weight in addition to getting better at drums!”
-Trey Gaylord
“Stephen, man killer workout love it! You put together a great regime…I myself made up a workout a while back, but it pales in comparison! It’s great how you combined your fitness prowess with your drumming techniques bravo….it’s inspired me to really get back into proper shape….mind and body!!!”

What is A Beginner’s Guide to the Drums?
Simply put, this is the most fun you’ve had in a while learning the basics of drumming! If you’re looking for how to get started on the drums, this is the pack for you. Or maybe you’ve been playing a few years but want to go back over the basics.
A Beginner’s Guide To The Drums is an 8 video pack that takes you through a wide range of the basics that you have to know to get started on the right track to drumming awesomeness. It covers…
1. How to set up your drums – I guide you step by step in how to tear down your kit and rebuild it for your body type and playing style. It all starts with a good set up!
2. The 3 grips – This video will take you through the nuts and bolts of the basic 3 matched grip positions, German, American, and French, and what they are used for.
3. Finger control – This lesson will teach you a series of finger exercises that will help you realize your full potential when it comes to hand speed and dexterity.
4. The single stroke roll – The most basic and most important rudiment that a drummer needs to know. We cover the basics of a good single stroke roll and I teach you exercises to help you improve your single strokes.
5. The double stroke roll – A close second in importance to the single stroke is the double stroke roll. Learn the basics, how to get clean doubles, and some exercises to help speed up your progress.
6. The paradiddle – This is a basic rudiment that combines the single stroke and double stroke stickings. It’s a must know for every drummer. This rudiment alone has countless applications on the drum set.
7. 10 must know beginner grooves – I always love for my students to learn applicable knowledge. In this lesson we’ll look at 10 specific grooves that are very common in popular music. My hope is that this is the lesson that will give you the ammo you need to start playing real music!
8. 2 fills that anyone can use – Along with your grooves, you’ll need some fills to throw in there to spice things up. This lesson teaches you 2 basic fills, how to apply them to a groove, and how to crash into the next measure without missing a beat (pun intended).
My goal is that through this beginner guide you will gain the skills and knowledge you need to begin achieving all of your drumming goals!
